The Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Society Minor provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the ethical, sociocultural and critical issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence.

Students in this minor will gain hands-on experience on how AI impacts society, addressing topics such as algorithmic bias, privacy, surveillance and the future of work.

This 18-unit minor is available on main campus and online.

Requirements

  • Students are required to maintain at least a 2.0 average in minor coursework to complete the minor.
  • Students are allowed to use up to 2 courses (typically, 6 units) between a major and minor program with departmental approval.
