The 6-course, 18-unit Cybersecurity undergraduate certificate is a highly technical, interdisciplinary certificate that builds on the skills necessary to become a cybersecurity professional.
In this certificate, students engage with practical, hands‑on training to develop real-world skills in areas like network analysis, threat intelligence and active cyber defense. By completing the program, students emerge with analytical thinking skills, understanding of cloud-based tools, familiarity with intrusion detection, threat hunting and secure network architecture.
Declaration or Application Process
If you are a current University of Arizona student, you may declare your certificate here:
If you are not a current U of A student, you can apply for admission as a certificate-seeking student.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Cybersecurity is available via main campus and Arizona Online.
Students must meet the same general University of Arizona admissions criteria as degree-seeking students. The requirements and expectations are the same as a first-year, transfer or readmit student depending on what admit type a student is (first-year, transfer or readmit). Students have to fill out the application fully and submit all required transcripts and requested materials. Certificate seeking students (as in certificate seeking only, not as part of a degree) are not eligible for merit aid or financial aid and if they apply as degree-seeking in the future, they are considered "readmits."
