Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity
The National Security Agency has named the University of Arizona as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, with designations for Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), Cyber Operations (CAE-CO) and Research (CAE-R)—one of only 11 institutions that hold all three designations.
The college's Bachelor of Applied Science in Cyber Operations (Cyber Engineering emphasis) holds the CAE-CO designation, one of only 23 universities nationwide to receive that prestigious credential. The CAE-CO program is a deeply technical, interdisciplinary, higher education program firmly grounded in the computer science, computer engineering, and/or electrical engineering disciplines, with extensive opportunities for hands-on applications via labs and exercises.
The BAS CO and Master of Science in Cyber and Information Operations hold the CAE-CD designation.
Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence
The Director of National Intelligence has named the University of Arizona as an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (IC CAE).
The college's Bachelor of Applied Science in Intelligence and Information Operations holds the IC CAE designation, which was created to to develop, prepare and educate the next generation of intelligence professionals with the core skills necessary to meet the United States’ national security imperatives, through increased educational, cultural and experiential opportunities and career prospects within the intelligence community (IC). The University of Arizona received its IC CAE program designation in 2019.
