STUDY ABROAD

Expand your world—
and your future.

At the College of Information Science, we believe that experiencing the world is one of the most powerful ways to understand it.

That’s why we offer four exciting study abroad opportunities—including our signature summer program in Orvieto, Italy. Whether exploring digital storytelling in a centuries-old hill town or game design trends in global hubs like London, Madrid and Seoul, these programs connect your InfoSci studies to real-world global contexts.

Studying abroad is a transformative experience—one that broadens your perspective, deepens your learning and empowers you to shape the future of information in a connected, ever-changing world.

“In a world that can feel divided, it was eye-opening to experience another culture and be welcomed with open arms. Don’t hesitate. There’s truly no experience like it.”
– Mason Young, BSIS, Orvieto '24

Visual Content Creation for the Information Age is a dynamic course designed to equip students with the necessary skills to create, share and critically evaluate visual content across media, from AI to VR and everything in between. Throughout the course, students will engage in hands-on projects and exercises, to apply the concepts learned. Students will gain exposure to real-world examples of successful visual content campaigns and explore contemporary trends and advancements in the field, including artificial intelligence and mixed reality. By the end of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of how visual artists make meaning through their work using visual content creation principles and techniques.

3 units. Gen Ed: Exploring Perspectives, Artist.

This course lays a foundation for understanding how stories shape communities, identities and memories while immersing students in the Italian culture and international travel. Students will be required to call on their own intellectual, emotional and imaginative processes to develop their own skills in digital storytelling, interviewing, oral history collection and use of relevant digital storytelling tools to tell the stories of their time in Italy.
