Bailie Wynbelt, the College of Information Science's Spring 2024 Outstanding Senior, came to U of A from Michigan because of our welcoming campus and expansive undergraduate research opportunities. As a BSIS student, they pursued the Data Science emphasis area, finding a dynamic new way to address both local and global issues such as climate change.

The U of A College of Information Science has honored six undergraduates and three graduates for Spring 2024: BSIS students Bailie Wynbelt, Ricardo Martinez, Edidiong Ekpoh and Chase Hult; BA IS&ES students Linda Bojorquez-Lopez and Ciera Zamora; MSDS student Nour Khalid Gordillo; and MLIS students Sophia Kingsley and Abraham Venegas.

Researchers, staff and students at the U of A Health Sciences Arizona Simulation Technology and Education Center, in collaboration with the College of Information Science's Winslow Burleson, are developing an artificial intelligence bot that they hope will revolutionize the training of medical students and healthcare workers.

BA in Information Science and eSociety online student Brittney Deo returned to college after a successful TV production career. Samantha Ginsburg joined the MA in Library and Information Science program after working as a paralegal and court staff member in Tucson for five years. As a Law Library Fellow, she is gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of academic law librarianship.

On April 10, 2024, Interim Dean Catherine Brooks celebrated the College of Information Science’s more than 20 administrative staff members at a luncheon culminating in our inaugural college staff awards. In total, seven awards were presented.
