Data Science Master's Student Shares Internship Experience with Roche in Inaugural MSDS Lightning Talks
University of Arizona Master of Science in Data Science students don't just take courses, they also conduct research, work with faculty and corporate partners on real-world data challenges, and use their new, advanced data skills to enhance their educational experience through internships and capstone projects.
At MSDS "lightning talks," six to eight U of A Master's in Data Science students share their experiences exploring cutting-edge topics like deep learning, unlocking the power of data in data science and biomedical engineering, the significance of data democratization and fraud detection in banking, smart placement of temporary sensors in water supply networks, alternative approaches to enhancing Tableau dashboards, and diving into the world of sarcasm detection with NLP techniques.
In the inaugural Fall 2023 MSDS lightning talks, second-year MSDS student Vikrant Deshmukh shared his experience as an intern with Roche, a Swiss multinational healthcare company that operates worldwide under two divisions: Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics.
