Matthew Helmke

Instructor

Matthew Helmke teaches one course for the College of Information Science. He is a technical writer who also works on curriculum development and instructional design and, occasionally, engineering. His goal is to help people understand and use stuff that is super-complex, new and at the cutting edge of what the industry is doing.

He has worked for large companies such as Red Hat, Adobe and Pearson, as well as several small startup companies. Additionally, he has written books on technologies like virtualization and Ubuntu Linux, both of which he uses in class.
