To me, the InfoSci experience means...

an interdisciplinary world that blends the power of technology with our everyday goings. I get to learn about the way we think, learn, digest and store information not only as individuals, but also as societies. I get to look into the past to make informed decisions about our future. I love being able to talk to friends from all over the world, hear different languages in my classes, listen to different life experiences, and despite all the differences, still finding commonalities. The InfoSci experience is characterized by critical thinking, creative problem solving and self exploration into the topics I'm interested in.

More about me:

I chose the Master of Science in Information Science at the University of Arizona because I love having conversations about the impact and utility of technology. We are living in such a quickly evolving world and I want to be at the center of these discussions.

My focus is on human-centered computing. HCC intentionally focuses on people and culture during the design and implementation of technologies. The things that I'm specifically interested in are the way we communicate ideas to other people and making sure that the new technologies are accessible.

When I'm not in school, I enjoy hiking, swimming, roller skating and reading.

My advice to prospective students is to find a balance between pursuing your passion and being receptive to new ideas. The best things come when we least expect them to.
