Fred D'Angelo

Instructor

Prior to beginning a new career in higher education, Fred D'Angelo worked for 20 years in various IT and finance positions for New England's largest electric company (then called Northeast Utilities). His financial career began in analyzing data and preparing the results to present in rate cases, but after a few years, he moved into the corporate financial forecasting group which allowed him to combine financial analysis with software development on the financial model.

In order to focus more on software development, he transferred to information technology and worked for several years on a large team that developed a new accounting and budgeting system. When that project ended, he remained in IT and held a number of positions including network operations analyst and client liaison to the CFO's group.

His teaching career began when a colleague, who served as an adjunct instructor at a community college, encouraged him to apply for an open position. A few years later, he joined Manchester Community College in Connecticut as a full-time faculty member. After moving to Arizona, he became a full-time faculty member at Pima Community College and later joined the U of A as an adjunct faculty member.
