A regional cyber incident response Capture the Flag event designed to strengthen student's hands-on cybersecurity skills Tucson Electric Power is hosting a regional cyber incident response Capture the Flag event designed to strengthen hands-on cybersecurity skills, build connections across Southern Arizona and support local workforce development. The event will bring together students, professionals, educators and industry partners for a practical, scenario-based exercise focused on real-world cyber defense and incident response.
Participants will work through a simulated cyber incident using the SANS PICERL model: Preparation, Identification, Containment, Eradication, Recovery and Lessons Learned. Teams will analyze alerts and artifacts, scope the incident, make containment and recovery decisions, document their actions and deliver a brief lessons learned summary. The event emphasizes practical skill-building, teamwork, clear communication and the value of public-private-academic collaboration in strengthening Arizona’s cybersecurity readiness.

Students of any major or level are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate!
Registration closes September 25th as you will get some pre-CTF instructions and tutorials. Please register in advance. You do not need as team, as the teams will be mixed participants!
