Archivist Intern – Great Basin Institute (GBI)

GBI has been a leader in the conservation stewardship field for over two decades, supporting thousands of individuals in public land management or advancing their academic standing.
In cooperation with the National Park Service (NPS), GBI is recruiting an Archivist Intern to work at Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park.
Job Responsibilities
- Process approximately 150 linear feet of physical management records (c. 2000-present) for Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front NHP, including records from:
- Office of the Superintendent
- Divisions of Facilities and Administration
- Resource Management and Planning
- Interpretation and Education
- Catalog materials into the Department of the Interior museum database and produce a formal finding aid.
- Rehouse all records and photographic materials for long-term care and storage.
- Survey the park's electronic cultural resources management records.
Timeline
- Full-time (40 hours/week) for a 24-week appointment
OR - Part-time for a total of 960 hours (to be completed before December 31, 2025)

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major study in a field directly related to Archives and/or Records Management.
- Experience:
- Entering archival collection documentation into automated databases.
- Cataloging archival records to allow easy access to information.
- Cataloging archival and museum collections and generating finding aids.
- Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree from a library, information science, or public history program with an emphasis on archival management.
- Experience: Familiarity with trends in digitization and digital preservation.
