The Arizona State Museum is looking for an archives assistant to help process a collection of papers from the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society. This involves transferring the collection into new boxes and carefully labeling new folders with descriptive information about the contents. Information is then updated or entered into a spreadsheet to create a guide for researchers.
Must be able to lift record cartons weighing up to 40 pounds and have good, legible handwriting.
The student reports to the head librarian and will receive training in archival practice. Ideal for a student interested in library science, anthropology or museum studies.
15 hours per week. Schedule is negotiable.
