Academic Liaison Program Graduate Student Worker
The University of Arizona Libraries is seeking a Graduate Student Worker to support our Academic Liaison Program. This is a flexible position offering valuable experience with academic liaison programs that are foundational at many libraries.
Position Details
- Title: Academic Liaison Program Graduate Student Employee
- Department: Student Learning & Engagement (SLE)
- Unit: Academic Liaison Group (ALG), cross-departmental
- Hours: 10 hours per week (.25 FTE)
- Location: Remote or hybrid work options available
- Compensation: $17.50/hour (Advanced Level II)
- Start Date: Spring 2025
Job Responsibilities
- Take and organize minutes for monthly Zoom ALG meetings (Wednesdays, 1-2 PM AZ time).
- Maintain and update ALG documentation, policies, and workflows.
- Assist with disciplinary reference support, co-teaching instruction requests, or systematic reviews as needed.
- Develop annotated bibliographies, quick-start guides, and other resources for ALG.
- Maintain subject guides under the direction of ALG leads.
- Support outreach events or provide online instruction and reference (dependent on hybrid/remote work status).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled UA graduate student (minimum 6 units).
- Must be enrolled in Master of Arts in Library & Information Science (LIS).
- Experience using library resources and conducting research.
- Familiarity with technology tools like Zoom, Box, MS Word, Google Drive, email, and calendar systems.
- Ability to commit to 10 hours per week.
- Not currently employed as a Graduate Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating or maintaining training materials or guidebooks.
- Knowledge of academic library liaison programs or research methodologies in specific disciplines.
- Background in developing annotated bibliographies or guides.
