Eric Gonzales
Graduate Program Admissions Lead

As graduate program admissions lead for the College of Information Science, Eric Gonzales is responsible for managing the graduate admissions team and all related responsibilities, including:
- Manage the admissions process by reviewing applications and entering decisions for all certificate, master’s and PhD programs
- Work closely with DGS on all aspects of admissions review, policies and deadlines for PhD candidates
- Manage the admissions process with Global partners to include provisioning, training and follow-up; assure all policies have been implemented and are followed according to Graduate College admissions standards
- Facilitate development of College of Information Science policies for admissions
- Collaborate on the development of admissions communications coming from the Slate system to all prospective applicants, current applicants and admitted students
- Manage the Catalog, GradApp and website descriptions for each graduate program
- Collaborates on graduate recruitment plans
- Guide staff and student workers who are communicating with all inquiries and responding to requests for information
- Coordinate deferrals for all programs by tracking, processing and communicating with all parties throughout the process
- Guide students through the Non-Degree Seeking process until transferred into respective programs
- Work with International students on J-1 Visa requests, including submission of the Graduate International Student Award Form
Eric holds a BSBA in Business Management and a Certification in Human Resource Management from the University of Arizona. He has over 15 years of managerial experience and has also dedicated over a decade to working with boards and engaging in local history. A fifth-generation native Tucsonan, Eric is bilingual in English and Spanish and possesses knowledge in archival preservation and protection, as well as foundational programming skills.
