Damon Leverett
Damon Leverett, MFA, AIA is an independent design and planning professional working in the southwest region of the United States. Formerly with the American Institute of Architects, he served as Managing Director, Workforce Development and Strategy at the national office in Washington DC from 2013 to 2019. His responsibilities included engaging membership in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion, emerging professional leadership as well as higher and K-12 education.
Damon has over thirty years of experience working in the architecture and design industry as a principal, lead designer and instructor. He served as Adjunct Lecturer at Lawrence Technological University College of Architecture and Design from 1990 to 2001 and was Visiting Lecturer of Architectural Design at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign from 2012 - 2013. Damon also holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Web Design and New Media from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and is currently Senior Lecturer College of Architecture and Adjunct Instructor College of Information Science at the University of Arizona.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Damon has former associations with the firms of Albert Kahn Associates, SmithGroup and EYP. He is a licensed Architect in Arizona and Michigan and currently resides in Tucson.
