U of A School of Information is Now the College of Information Science
We are delighted to share a transformative milestone in our institution’s history: the University of Arizona School of Information is now the University of Arizona College of Information Science.
"While we have been a standalone college for a year, our name change reflects our growing commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of information and library science," says Interim Dean Catherine Brooks.
"Over the years, we have expanded our academic programs, research initiatives and community partnerships, evolving into a vibrant hub for interdisciplinary learning and discovery," Brooks says. "As a college, we will continue to foster an environment where cutting-edge research and educational excellence converge to prepare our students for the dynamic landscape of information and library science, data science, game design and development, and so much more."
Our status as a college allows us to enhance our resources, attract top-tier faculty and provide even more opportunities for our students and alumni. We remain dedicated to our mission of exploring the intersection of people, data and technology by empowering a diverse, equitable and inclusive future through information.
We are grateful for your continued support and engagement, which have been instrumental in our journey. As we embark on this new chapter, we look forward to celebrating many more achievements together.
