Hector Garcia-Verdugo
Hector Garcia is the Data Diversity Lab’s Manager, which is led by Dr. Cristian Román-Palacios at UA’s College of Information Science. As an alumnus of the University of Arizona, he holds dual degrees from the College of Science and College of Social & Behavioral Sciences in Neuroscience/Cognitive Science and Philosophy respectively. Hector has had a biology-focused career since 2013, and he is dedicated to bridging science and the humanities to advance equitable causes. From his position at the Data Diversity Lab, Hector is interested in offering a unique perspective and a commitment to creating a more just future. Hector has research interests in Developmental Biology (published co-author), Neuroscience (published co-author) political philosophy, and in the use of disruptive emergent technologies to advance economic democracy.
