The Harriet Silverman Scholarship supports students 1) who graduated from an Arizona high school with at least a 3.5 GPA, 2) who are attending the University of Arizona for the first time during the 2022-23 academic year, and 3) who are/will be majoring in sciences, engineering or mathematics fields. The amount of the award and number of awards may vary depending upon the determination of the award committee, but will be approximately $500. The award is only to be used for tuition and fee support and is subject to approval by the Office of Student Financial Aid. Please note that due to the high volume of applications for WISE scholarships, we can only contact the students who have been chosen to receive funding from WISE. Applicant Criteria:
- Must be an alumni of a high school located in Arizona who had a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.5 (unweighted)
- Must be a first-year student enrolled at the University of Arizona during the 2022-2023 year
- Must be pursuing a major in science, engineering, or mathematics
- Must demonstrate financial need by submitting a summary of their completed FAFSA application (available at fafsa.ed.gov)
- Awardees will be required to provide high school transcript prior to receiving funds.
